Update on the Ione Wastewater Project

Update on Ione’s Wastewater System

  • Swaggart has completed the installation of the effluent forcemain across Main Street to the Lift Station Site. They have not tested this pipeline yet, but we are anticipating that this will be complete in the next week or so.
  • The MCGG yard was cleaned up, along with Tom Shear’s driveway, after the installation of the effluent forcemain.
  • Swaggart continues to work on Johnson Grade restoration. This should be complete in the next couple of days. The County was on site last week doing an inspection and they appeared to be pleased with how the road was looking.
  • Septic Tanks were installed in 14 vacant lots. They crew installed the associated septic tank risers, tested the septic tanks, and backfilled.
  • Swaggart has been saw cutting asphalt for upcoming gravity mainline installations.
  • The construction crew met with the school’s construction crew at the sports complex site to address issues related to the existing sewer service line.
  • The 10,000-gallon fiberglass tank at the northwest corner of the school was installed.
  • The power trench for the drain field site was backfilled and completed.
  • The small control building for the drainfield site was delivered and installed.

Note: Main Street will be closed from Highway 74 (MCGG Fertilizer Plant) to approximately Surething Avenue (MCGG Gas Station) starting March 7, 2025 for approximately two weeks.
