City of Ione- Progress Report as of January 22, 2025
1) The 4” sewer line on Johnson Grade Rd has been installed to the drain field. There remains about 100’ in the area of the dosing tanks that still requires installation. There were numerous areas of Johnson Grad Rd that were widened with excess dirt and rock with the help of the county. Thank you Morrow County Public Works.
2) The drain field is nearly complete. All 17 cells with drainage material have been installed and backfilled. Additionally, the feed lines to the 17 cells have also been completely plumbed and backfilled. The three dosing tanks are all installed and plumbed. Concrete pads for the generator and control room have been poured and the control room structure is on order. 6” of gravel (¾ minus) now surrounds the dosing tank area including the pads.
3) The boring operation under the highway was completed. The 4” hdpe line is finished under the highway and up Johnson Grade Rd.
4) New elevations (GPS reading) throughout town have been double checked for flow accuracy. The recheck of individual lots is nearly complete.
5) There have been a handful of individual lots with their own unique challenges. All challenges will be addressed prior to excavation.
6) We are faced with dewatering (pumping out) the pit at the main lift station. That is currently being addressed as this is being written.
7) The cultural monitors (Plateau Cultural Management) visited Ione a few weeks ago. They were shown the additional areas to monitor. Their field survey netted no significant finds.
8) The Swaggart team is currently installing both 4” pipe line and 6” gravity flow line along the south side of the MCGG yard.
9) There are still some unresolved issues at the east side of the high school. These issues are currently being addressed.
