Reminder to Keep House and Cars Locked

The City of Ione would like remind its citizens and visitors to please remember to keep your house and cars locked.  Ione has had an individual who has been trying to access cars.  Unfortunately, he has found some open cars without keys.  He has stated that he just wants to drive a car.  City personnel have talked to the gentleman and he has been reported to the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office.  But please, still be on the lookout. 

New Ordinance Approved by CIty Council

At the May 9, 2023 meeting the Ione City Council passed the 2023-02 Nuisances Ordinance.   The ordinance addresses offensive odors, noise, uncontrolled weed and grass, debris, and rodent control.  The City will be mailing all residents a copy of the Ordinance along with the following:

• Abandoned Vehicles Ordinance

• Dog Ordinance

• Chicken Ordinance

• The Consumer Confidence Report on Water (CCR).
