To Our Amazing Community and Neighbors
The City of Ione would like to thank all the volunteers and businesses that responded so quickly to help the businesses in Ione that were affected by today’s flood. It was an amazing turnout and show of support from the citizens and businesses of Ione, Lexington, and Heppner. There were so many people helping, we cannot even begin to name them, but please know we recognize all your time and hard work.
The following businesses sent resources and/or employees to assist in the cleanup: Morrow County Grain Growers, The Port of Morrow, The Broken Spoke, Wheatland Insurance, Crum Farming, ASE Farms, IRT, Morrow County Public Works, and ODOT. If anyone was missed, please feel free to let us know.
Councilor Mark Patton spoke with the Oregon Department of Emergency Management to request their support. They have asked that a list be put together of all individuals, their hours worked to clean up the city and affected businesses, and any resources and/or equipment used. So please spread the word to contact Elizabeth Peterson at City Hall (541-488-7414) with any of the above requested information.
